An appetizing collaboration
At Vilajuïga, we love sitting down with the crème de la crème of the culinary world to discover the secrets of the trade and, while we’re at it, get our hands on some delicious recipes, as well. We’re especially proud of teaming up with Pau Arenós on the web series Cata Mayor by El Periódico to learn more about some of the country’s most famous and charismatic kitchens.
The show kicked things off on April 30 with Montserrat Fontané and Joan Roca, who prepared some mouthwatering fried squid. In May, we’ll dive deep into the sea with Ferran Adrià and his fish soup and Martín Berasategui and his cod kokotxas with pil-pil sauce. The Torres brothers will also make an appearance with a rice dish prepared in their unique style. At the end of the month, Christian Escribà will share all the secrets of making first-rate fritters.
As for summer, Jordi Roca will get June going with a sweet chocolate soufflé. We’ll check in with Albert Raurich as he serves up some white beans and clams. And since no table is complete without a good loaf of bread, Anna Bellsolà will be in charge of teaching Pau Arenós how to make one at the Baluard bakery. Carlota Claver, of La Gormanda, will wrap up the month by showing us how to make some magnificent three-meat croquettes.
On July 2, Josep Monge, of Via Veneto, will bring the series to the sweetest of ends with some much needed Crêpes Suzette.
